While the barque Glenmark was in midAtlantic her ballast shifted, and the vessel threatened to heel over. Tho captain and liis daughter were for two days in momentary expectation being washed away by the high seas which broke over tho vessel. The steamer Darnholme then saw thoir signals of distress, and sent her boats to the assistance of the crew. Throughout the day the boats attempted in vain to reach the Glenmark. Finally all were rescued by means of a life-line. Tho captain's daughter wa9 dragged half 'a mile through tho water, and rescued in an exhausted condition.
