BASEBALL TRUST.
LATEST AMERICAN CASE. St. Louis, June 14. Jack O'Connor, a former manager of St. Louis Brown's baseball team, declares that there is an organised baseball trust, which operates ill violation of tho Sherman Anti-Trust Law. Ho has retained attorne3's to sue tho American League, claiming .£SOOO damages bscauso of his having been banished from the organised ring. O'Connor also declares that baseball, its at present organised, prevents competition between the players for salaries and between the clubs for the services of players. There is a conspiracy to control nil prices.—Sydney "Sun." '
Many of the principal baseball teams of America are "owned by individuals, or syndicates, who pay salaries and expenses, and collect profits from the games. Although most of the "owners" arc baseball enthusiasts, many take up tho enterprise purely as a business venture.
