The two women, .Clarice Co well and Elizabeth Barry, havo been committed for trial on a charge of having attempted l to murder another woman, Mrs. King, by placing strychnino in her tea-cup. The police evidence, tendered at tho first hearing of the case, showed that Barry called on Mrs. King, representing herself as a friend of tho brother of King. She was asked to lave a cup of tea. After the tea had been made, Mrs. King left the room, and on returning 6ipped tho beverage. Discerning a peculiar taste, she did not drink it. She examined it after Barry had left, and found it contained! sufficient strychnine to kill ten people. Both accused admitted the fapts.
