COMMANDANT DEPARTS.
SEND-OFF BY STAFF OFFICERS. Major-General A. J. Gtdley, C.8., Com* mandant of the Now Zealand companiod by Mrs. Godley, loft for England by tho Aorangi yesterday afternoon. Quito a number of staff officers were present when tho steamer sailed. Iheso included Colonel Heard and Mrs. Heard, Oolonol Coclirano and Mrs. Cochrane, Colonel Knox, and Colonel Collins. Major Hughes and Mrs. Hup Eos, Major Hume and Mrs. Hunio, Captain Brown, Captain Metton, and Dr. Collins. Prior to tho General's, doparture, a prwentetuin (a travelling rug) was made on behalf or tlio headquarters staff.
