The following is tho more important portion of agenda-paper for tho meeting of the Executive Committeo of the Municipal Association of New Zealand on Tuesday:— Shops and Offices Act, 1903 —Weekly Half-holiday.—"That Section 17 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1908, be amended to provide that electors, signing tho requisition mentioned in this section shall be required to add their Christian names and addresses." —New Plymouth. "That the Government be recommended to provide for Saturday being the day appointed, for the weekly half-holiday for shops and offices throughout tho Dominion."— New Plymouth, Tax on Benzine.—"That, for tho purpose of maintaining and improving tho roads affected by motor traffic, the Government be requested to impose a tax upon the importation of benzine, the proceeds of the tax to bo distributed amongst tho local authorities aifected on. a valuation basis."

Rates ou Workers' Dwellings.—"That the attention of the Government be draw to the unsatisfactory position in which local bodies are placed owing to having to look only to the tenant ferrates and having no power to recover the rates as against the property."—Chrlstcliurch. Several Elections Held on Samo Day.— "That, owing to tlie inconvenience caused by the.holding of so> many elections on the day fixed for the biennial election of councillors, the law should bo amended to provide for some of ths elections being held in" a-different day."—Christchurch. Plumbers' - Biagistrntion • Act, 1912. — "That this Act bo so amended as to make it clear whether it is intended to apply to waterworks plumbers or not."—Auckland. Civil Servants.—"That tho attention of tho Government bo. drawn to the injustice now placed upon boroughs. like Pctono, through .the regulations which forbid railway employees and Civil Servants from taking any. active paTt in local body matters, and request the Government to remove these restrictions, so that these' men may take a 'seat on borough councils, etc."—Petone? .'
