Tho ballot for seven sections in the Mangaone and Kopuaranga Survey District, which are portions of Ihuraua grazing runs, tho leases of which expired 6omo months ago, took place in the Masterton Drill Hall to-day. The applicants were examined in the morning and some of them were rejected, being possessed of nioro land thah the Act allowed. Altopether, there wero 57 qualified applicants for seven sections. The ballot was conducted by Mr. T. N. J&roderick, Commissioner of Crown Lands, in the presence of Messrs. J. Dawson, H. T. EHingham, and J. Gcorgetti, members of tho Wellington Land Board. The result of tho ballot is as follows:Section 1, Block XVI, Mangoone Survey District, 205 acres (11 applicants)— T. O'Halloran (Tinui). Section i, Block XVI, Survey District, 131 acres (5 applicants) A. Maclean (Dannevirke). Section 0, Block XVI, Mangaone Survey District, 110 acres (7 applicants)— Mrs. H. F. Weston (Alfredton). Section 2, Block IV, Kopuaranga Survey District, ICS acres (J7 applicants)—Petersen, jun. (Ihurau). Section 3, Block XVI, Mangaone Survey District, 144 acres (9 applicants)— Mrs. A. L. Patrick (Alfredton). Section 2, Block XVI, Mangaono Survey District, 120 acres (4 applicants)—C. b. Halbort (Hostwell). Section 3, Block IV, Kopuaranga Survey District, 155 acres (14 applicants)—Geo. it. Ford (Ihaurau).
