STUD HOLSTEIN CATTLE.
The first annual breeders' consignment pale of pedigree Holstein-Friesian cattlo will be field at Longburn, Pahnerston North, on Thursday, .I uno 19, by Dalgety and Company, Ltd., auctioneers, I'almerfitun- North. The oil'oring comprises 111 podigro9 bulls, 6 podigree females, and 3 pedigree heifers born in September and October, 1912. Tho bulls to be offered on account of Mr. W. I. Lovelock, Friesland Park, Palmorstoh, include descendants of the champion- bull, "Cliffside Laddie," and "King Segis Wild Rose Homestead" (imp ; ), and übo the imported bull, "Model King of Wisconsin," sire "Canary Paul lobes Homestoa/d," dam "Lorea do Kol IV The females include "Beauty Lee" and "Laddie's Fancy," by "C'liifside Laddie," "Dutchland Queen," by tho famous bull "Vam Tromp," cow by "Earl Korndyko Harriet," "lithel of Delhurst" (imp.), and her' daughter "Lady Delhurst," Sired by "Isobel of Riverside" (imp.). Mr. A. H. Street, of Wew Plymouth, offers 3 pedigree bulls from 9 to 11 months old, and these are sired by that -wellknown bull "Springhill Jack," No. 7, N.Z.H.B. Mr. N. 13. Loighton, the well-known Invercargill prize-taker, is submitting the imported tour-year-old bull "Rubin of Brundee," also "Invercargill Lord Dalston," son of "Rubin of . Brundee," and "Invorcargill Mikado," sire "'Bismarck, bred by Mr. J. C. N. Grigg, of Long. The cow, "Maid of Leith," to bo oifered on account same vendor, was bred by Mr. J. C. IV. Grigg, and under a seroi-ofhcial test trom calving date, September 11, lain, had up to April 30, having teen 232 days in milk, showed 10,0431b. of milk and 373.621b. of butter-fat, which is considerably abovo record requirements, and this animal is still milking satisfactorily, considering she has journeyed from Boutnland. "Maid of Leith" has been the champion cow at tho Invercargill show two year 9in succession, und securcd tne championship at last year's show in a field of eight first prize takers. . Mr. W. Mivenzie s three, heifers include two September calvers, .sired by Uiiffcido Laddie," and one October calf sired by "Rozine do Kol l'ietertje," whoso name will appear in section 1, second volume of the Herd Book. ' . , Mr. Johnston Wylio, of Elgin Park, Southland, has brought up to this in'" l " sale tho rising three-year-old bull Marquis of Leith?' who has for his sire "Crowe," and dam "Maid of Leith,. both bred by Mr. J. C. N. Grigg. This bull was unbeaten in the shew nog as a- two-year-old, and secured the gold medal awarded by the Holstein-Friesian AssociaThe three-year-old bull "Heather Boy, to bo offered- on account of /lie wellknown breeder, Mr. A. J. Gallichan, was bred by Mr. Geo. Aitchlson, of Kaitangata, and is an exceptionally high-quality animal, and descended from a high record milking strain. The sale will start at 1 p.m., and trains from Palmerston and the south will be convenient for purchasers, as the fixture is being held uno minute's walk from Longburn railway station.
