FIRES IN AUCKLAND.
TWO OUTBREAKS. ] (By Telegraph.—Preen Association.! Auckland, June 17. A fire broke out at 9.30t0-night in the cabinetmaking factory of Messrs. Winks and Hall, in the city.. Tho factory contained considerable quantity of unfinished light joinery and cabinet work. ■ The fire made' a tremendous blaze,' but owing to the 'light nature ; of the material; was extinguished in a few minutes. • Practically the whole of tho contents of the large workshop were ruined by fire and water. The insurance, damage, or cause of the outbreak are not ascertainable to-night.
~ - Auckland, June 17. - A boardinghotise, known as "Helidon," in O'Rorke Street, was partially destroyed by fire this morning, five rooms being gutted and the furnituro being almost entirely destroyed by fire and water. Some boarders had a narrow escape. The building was owned by Mr. G. ICronfeld, and was occupied .by Miss Alexander. The house was insured for .£6OO with the NewZealand Insurance Company, and the contents in the Northern Assurance Company for i! 200.
