Pctone Wsddinfl. A 'wedding took place on Saturday, June 14, at Potonc, when Miss Lottio Kathleen O'Neale, daughter of Mr. A. E. O'Neale, of Feathers ton, was married to Mr. Alfred Cyrus Silvenvood, of Petono. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a dark green tailor-mado costume, and a black hat with white plumes. Tho bridesmaid was Miss Silvenvood, sistor of tht> bridegroom, and Mr. Raymond O'Ncalo was best man. The Rev. Wainright was the officiating clergyman. Mr. and Mts. Silvorwood will live at the Lower Hutt, on. part of tho Fitzherbert Estate. Christian Women Board of Missions. A social was held in the Church of Christ, Sydney Street, Potone, on May evening by tne Petono auxiliary of # the Christian Women's Board of Missions. Mr. A. E. Wright was in tho chair. Many were present, and a pleasant evening was spent. Tho object of the social was to defray tile expenses of tho delegate who had recontly attended tho C.W.B.M. Conference held in Christchurch a short time ago. Tho following items were given during the course of tho evening Duct, Miss Allen nnd Mr. Moore; song, Mrs. Crozior; xecitations, Mts. Usmar, MlB3 Lea, Mr. Delahunty, Mr. Willington, and Mr. A. Wright; quartet, Mesdames Crosier, S. MuTgatroyd, Messrs. A. Batberby and Murgatroyd; violin duet, Messrs. Batterby and S. Ashby; pianoforte duots, the Misses Ashby (2) and Miss Braddook. and Miss Valentine. Supper was handed round later, and a salo ot useful articles made by the Sewing Guild was also held. The proceeds will bo devoted to tho building fund of the mission. A Birthday Dance. To celebrate the twenty-first, birthday of her daughter, Mrs. Maxwell, gavo a dance in tho Boulcott Street Hall last evening. Enough were present to make the nali pleasantly full for dancing, and with a good floor, good music, and plenty of partners, a very enjoyable evening followed. The room in which dancing took place had been very prettily decorated with lycopodium «ind nags and red shades festooned with trails of lycopodium veiled the electric lights and gave a soft glow to the room instead of the hard white light that usually prevails. A carpet, palms, screens and oomfortable chairs placed at one end made m pleasant sitting-out place for those looking on at the dance. Supper vas laid in the room "upstairs, the table having been deooratod with broad bands of red satin ribbon and with vases of asparagus fern and scarlet may. Mrs. Maxwell woro a gown of soft eaxo bluo satin veiled with black l&oe. Miss Maxwell was in a pretty frook of pale blue satin, with basquo bodice of oream lace, and laco also veiled the skirt. Dance at Upper Hutt. A Druids' ball was hold at tho Upper Hutt on Friday evening, about 200 people being present.
