Both brothers . had been brought up at Ilayward Orphanage, in Northowran, near Halifax, York- ' shire, and when they camo to the Auckland province they settled iu tho North* ern Wairoa, and prospered. The elder • of tho two, Isaac Butterworth, gave up 0 his farm some fifteen years ago, and ho passed away on ■ Monday of last week, i, aged 80 years. Deceased, who outlived his brother by about a year, has left 0 .£2OOO to the liayward Chapel, in Nortlir owran, and another JiIOOO to the Orphan- • ago in tho same town.' Amongst the local charities to benefit are the Church of 1 England Orphnn.igo at Papatoetoe, the 3 Remuera Children's Homo, in Portland ■ Road, and tho Children's Home, iu Richmond Road. Theso institutions will dii, vide the residue of tho estate between them, and'a sum of between i! 700 and t .£9OO will go to each of tho homes mentioned. The Beresford Street Church received tho Bum of XSOO.
