WARM DtTNEDIN HAPPENINGS. . (By Tolegraph.—ProM Aeioclfltion.) Dunedin, June 16. A heated disoussion took place at a meeting of the ccmuiittce of the Otago Rugby Union to-night, concerning all©* gations of rough play in the AlhambraKaikorai senior match on Saturday. Tho question was introduced by a report from the referoo (Mr. Dowland), w&o had ordered Choyce, of the Alhambra team, off the field on a charge of strikiiijj H. M'Donald, of ICaikorai. Mr. White then referred to the roughness of the play. Tho chairman, Mr. Harris. w<ho was not present at the match, said ho' had been deluged with deputations that morning, and from what lie could gather, the play had been nnnecessarily rough. i f rom what ho nad been told, the referee would have been justified in closing tho game. Members of the committee who were at tho match said tho play was unnecessarily rough, but stated their inability to give tho names of the players concerned. It was decided to request the captain and deputy-captain of the Alhambra tca.ni, the captain and Dryden, of tibe Kaikorai team, a member of the committee of each club, tho referee, and Choyce, to attend the next meeting.
