JULY LABOUR CONGRESS,
' 500 DELEGATUS EXPECTED. About 500 delegates are expected ia Wellington to attend tho Labour Conference, which commences 011 July 1. Already a list of about MO delegate, representing 200 organisations, lias been prepared, una it is expected that another hundred oi« gauisatious, and two hundred delegates will signify their intention of Leiug present. It is slated that the list of organ, isations which will bo represented covOra all branches of the Labour movement, and tho Labour loaders hope that the confercnce will succeed in forming a singlo body, with n common programme. Aehieving this will be anything but plain sailing. While a number of unions are reaily to vote for the United Labour l'arly conbtitulion H3 it stands, others are expected to advocate a return (o tho old Labour leagues with a scheme of tederation of unions,' as proposed by the trades councils' conferences. .. Prior to tho Julv Congress a meeting will bo held on June 28 to consider a proposal to federate. the workers in the transport industries in Aew Zealand. It is proposed that the federation should include waterside workers, seamen, train, way men, and drivers. ,
