PHYSICAL EDUCATION.
ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTORS APPOINTED. The training staff of the Physical Edu* cation Department has been increased to ten membors by the appointment of three ladies, Miss I. If. Larsen, Miss E. M. Blackburne, and Mis 98. Greenwood. Miss Larsen lias only been in the Dominion ,for about a year. She received a training in tho Physical Education Department in Denmark, which is her native country. The other ladies have been engaged 'hitherto in private teaching, Miss Blackburno at Wellington, and Miss Greenwood at Nelson. ■ All three ladies, it is stated, were highly recommended, and are fully qualified to carry out tho duties of the-ir new positions. Miss Larsen is at present engaged with Miss Heritage, who was the first instructress appointed, m tho work of training teachers of the Hawko s Bav Education District, at Napier. _ Tho Department now has -six male instructors and four ladies. Mr. T. Eoytl Garlick' (Director) anticipates that 1000 of the 5000 teachers in the Dominion will have beon put through a coutso of training by October next.
