ENTERTAINMENTS.

"PUSS-IN-BOOTS." "Puss-in'-Booths" looks like putting up a record for pantomime business in Wellington. Every evening sees tho Opera Houso taxed to its full capacity, and to estimate tho quality of the entertainment by the laughter and applause it is one of tho most popular pantomimes J. C. Williamson, ltd., has presented for somo years.' Notably clever performances are given by Mr.; George Miller as the Dame, Mr. 0. E. Lennon as Slyboots, Mr. Pip Powell as tho King, and Miss Violet Loraino as Colin. The specialty "turns" of the clever Gaudsmidts and their dogs, aud Collins and Hart are features not to be missed. The final matinee of the season Mill be given to-morrow afternoon. THE NEW DANDIES. The New Dandies, now appearing nightly at tho Conceit Chamber of the Town Hall, are providing a capital entertainment on what is popularly known as costume-comedy lilies. Among the pel'fcrmers are Mr. Atliol Tier, an eccentric dancer and grotesque comedian, who raises much laughter with his dancing. Mr. Joseph Brennan is a clever entertainer, and Mr. George Edwards a bright cleancut humourist. Mr. Ford Waltham's contributions aro always popular, and Mr. Agnew's vocal items rather abovo the average. The Misses Fitzgerald and Miss Peggy Ross oro also valuable members of the company. , THEATRE ROYAL. Tho charm of vaudeville maintains its hold against all opposition in the world of theatrical entertainments as is evidenced by the uniformly good business recorded at the Theatro Royal by tho Ful-ler-Brennan Company. Among the prominent artists now appearing aro: Er Jley, a clever equilibrist, Carmen and Lawrence, song and piano sketch artists, the Esma Duo, Mr. Frank 'Hawthorne, and the merry Crimson Ramblers. The management announce that on Monday evening the Avalos, said to be the most expert xylophonists ever heard in these parts, will make their first appearance. 1 HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE. "Kathleen Jlavourneen," a dramatic Irish romance,' holds prido of placo in the excellent programme of animatcdpictures being shown at His Majesty's-The-atre this week: Other good pictures aro the Maori aquatic sports, the great floods in Ohio, and the l'atho Gazette. There will be a matinee performance tomorrow. KING'S THEATRE. The interest in moving pictures is beinj well maintained at the King's Theatro, where a first-class variety of the latest films may lie seen. The programme at the New Theatre was changed yesterday. "Father" is now the principal picture there. ■ A man named .Marny who is on tho verge ol' ruin plots against his rival in business aud endeavours to have the lattcr's factory burned down. The wrong mail is convictc-d for incendiarism and languishes for 15 years i.i prison. Then he escapcs, finds out by accident who was responsible for tho fire, and retaliates by burning down Moray's factory. Tho two fire scenes form the chief excuse for the picture. Undoubtedly they are good and thoso patrons who like fire scenes will not be disappointed. A Yitagraph dramst "Tho Red Barrier" is tho second picture and, to manv, will be nicro acceptable than "Father." It is a lovo drama which ends in ,1 duel between the two rivals.
