The Ulster Unionist Council passed a resolution approving of the Irish Unionists abstaining from taking part in the Home Rule debate, and also assuring Sir Edward Carson that the loyalists will follow his lead when he gives the word. ■ Eighteen Unionists arc beginning a campaign in tho principal English towns against Homo Rule. Lords Lansdowne and londonderry and Sir Edward Oareon will address an Orange demonstration in Belfast on July 12, Sir Edward Carson, speaking at Rugby, said it was no longer possible to speak effectively in the House of Commons, and the Unionists Were now appealing to the British democracy on behalf of tho Irish democracy. THE ARMING OF ULSTER. WATCHING THE GUN-RUNNERS. London, June 11. The rifles in tho stablo at Hammersmith, at present being watched by Sootland Yard men, are of Italian manufacture, magazine pattern, with Bimplo mechanism. They are suitable for irregulars, and are worth 30s. each. They lack the English proof mark, which is an offence against the excise laws. A consignment of rifles and bayonets has also been discovered at Newcastle.
