MARCONI SHARES.
LORD ELIBANK'S PURCHASE.
FOR THE PARTY.
FURTHER LIGHT ON THE DEAL.
SLUMP IN PRICES. By T«leera»li—Preis Association—Copyright London, Juno 10. Before the Marconi Inquiry Committee, Captain. Murray gave evidence that Lord Murray of Elibank (his brother), before leaving England, handed him three thousand Marconi shares that had been purchased for the Liberal party. Lord Murray had proposed to retain tho shares until tho Marconi business had l.een cleared up, so that nobody but himself should be involved. Ho had similarly informed his legal advisor, but had not informed his colleagues. Witness said ho believed that Lord Murray's transaction, if indiscreet, was perfectly free from dishonour; he (witness) thought that if the transaction had been disclosed it would have bcon used to make political capital at the expense of the Liberal party. In reply to a question, Captain Murray said ho thought it quite probable that nothing would; liavo been heard of tho Liberal party's purchase of shares if the Tenner incident had not occurred. He was unable to say whether Fenner's indebtedness was duo to the Liberal party or to Lord Murray personally. The committee is considering its interim report. A DROP IN "MARCONIS." FROM £& TO FIFTEEN SHILLINGS. ; London, June 10. It is a noteworthy fact that Marconi shares for which Lord Murray of Flibank paid upwards of £3 aro now quoted at under 15s.
