Tho return match between the NoW South Wales and Now Zealand Leaguo teams was playtfd in cold and 6howery weather. T'ho gfound was sloppy. Thero ■ wns an attendance of .20.000. For New Zealand, W. Mitchell roplacod Bradley at full-back; Proebstal and Duval replaced Ashcr and Mitchell at threequarters; Jackson replaced Manning at half-back, and Hogan and Clark replaced Auld and R. Mitchell in tho forwards. For New South Wales, Mcssonger replaced Deans at three-quarters, and Deano replaced Norman at five-eighths. New South Wales had tho assistance of tho wind in tho first spell, and had all tho best of the game, handling the greasy ball with remarkablo precision, considering tho conditions. New South Wales, attacking during most of tho spell, crossed New Zealand's lino four times, and twice converted, whereas tho Blacks failed to score. Now Zealand, however, started the second 1 spell with a great dash, and crossed tho lino twico in quick succession (each try being converted) and nlso secured a penalty-goal, making twelve points before their opponents scored. The tide tlien turned, Now South' Wales crossing Now Zealand's lino three times, converting twice, and also securing a penalty-goal. The combination and stamina of Now 1 Saith Walw; proved too much for their opponents, wlio filially found tho pace too' hot. Messenger, Broomham. and Frewley (2) scored in the first spell, Messenger converting twice. Frawley's trios were the result of spocinlly good runs.
