Tho secretary of the New Zealand Referees' Association wrote stating that Mr. B. L, Salmon bad appointod referee, and Mr, J. Inch linesman, for

the Otago-Wcllington Brown Shield match, which is to take place oil tho Basin Reserve on Juno 21. Tho appointments were approved,

A challenge was received from tho Auckland Football Association for a Brown Shield match this season. It waS pointed out that under tho rales, Wellington hav« ing accepted four previous challenges, they were not compelled to accept Auckland's challenge, Tho rule continues to pay that "the holders may agree to play extra matches." It was decided to accept tho challenge, and refer it to tho Wellington Association to deal with.

It was announced thnt, provided Wellington can hold tho shield after Otago'a visit, Taranaki will play Wellington on July 12, Canterbury on August 2, and • Manawatu on August 23. Theeo matches aro all subject to Wellington retaining. tho shield after previous matches. Mr. W.'M. Maiheson, having declined l tho position of treasurer of tho council, Mr. A. Kerr was elected to fill Alio vacancy. Tho quostion of electing a pormanent chairman was held over till next meeting.
