RANGITIKEI COUNCIL.

Martoni June 9. At tho monthly meeting of tho Rangitikei County Council, the salaries of tho staff were increased by .£2OO, the engineer, clerk, and overseer eaoh receiving U3O per tin mini extra, and tho assistant clerk Increases wore also given to tho junior clerks at Marton and Hunterville. The question of inadequate representation of the county on tho Wangamu Hosnital and Charitable Aid Board was also discwCTsd, and a resolution .strongly protesting against tho reduction of representatives from fivo four was carried, together with a request that tho matter bo reconsidered.
