GERMAN COMMENT, COUNTERVAILING MEASURES MAT . BE NECESSARY. By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright Berlin, June 8. There is little comment here regarding Mr. Churchill's announcement that the building of three Dreadnoughts will be accelerated. Captain Persius, the wellknown writer on naval matters, writing in the "Tageblatt," deplores Mr. Churchill's grasping at an opportunity to give the tax-gatherer's screw another turn. He points out that the new battleships will be availablo for duty in tho North Sea, and that Germany will • demand countervailing measures.
