John White, tho president, and eighteen members of the United Mino "Workera of America, are being charged at Charleston, West Virginia, with violation of tho anti-trust law, and conspiring with ■coal operators to raise wages in tho West Virginia coal fields in order 'to prevent competition with other States. The case is the first of the kind heard under the Sherman law. CPEGE AGAINST AN EMPLOYER. New Yorkj June 8. A jury at Boston acquitted William Wood, president of the American Woollen Company, charged with conspiracy to injure tho textile workers in connection with the Lawrence strikes. Tho State Attorney alleged' that Wood had arranged a plan to dynamite the works in Order to throw the blame for the outrage on tho strikers and thus discredit their movement.
