MANAWATU HUNT.
A most cnjoyablo hunt was held at Lower Hutt last Saturday. The meet took place at Bellcvue Gardens at 2.30 p.m., and the "throw off" at Mr. August's farm at 3 p.m. Over thirty made the journey, including four gentlemen and a lady from Palmerston North. Tho visitors wero: Mr. Bruco M'Ewan, master (Ragman), Miss Angus (Major Webb), and Messrs. P. Henry (Drummerboy), J. Connor (Ennerdalo), and H. R. Lancaster (Princess). The following were some of the followers:—Captain A. M. Samuels, deputy-master (Kairoma), 0. H. Benge (Sir Mauser), C. Blnndell (Pat), J. Macdonald (Lady Paul), D. M'Kendry (Clover), J. Manning (Scamp), J. Burrows (Mazft), — Walker (Oakley), S. Maxwell (Lady Deal), J. Fecr.ey (Du Flo), D. M'Arthur (Biddy), J. Hunter (Lady), AV. Innis (Dandy Dick), H. Trevethick (.Cabbage Patch), E. Anstis (Cob). F. Simpson (Carrying Co.), T. Benge (Big Ben), J. M'Kay (Boot Patch), W. Tressider (Stonewall Jackson), J. Jones (Matehow), W. Burrows (Wainui), A. M'Kenzie (Quinn), S. Gibson (Paisano), S. Campbell (Three Star), and C. Hayward (Kaimoe). Messrs. D. M'Kendry and H. R. Lancaster acted is hon. whips, and Messrs. J. Manning and W. Burrows laid tho drag. After the hunt tho membors and visitors were entertained at tea by Mr. H. M. Hayward, and a most enjoyable, time was spent. Toasts were drunk to tho visitors, including tho Master, Mr. M'Ewan, and Mis 3 Angus, also to the deputy-master and the new huntsman. Tho gathering dispersed with three cheers for the host.
