Suffragettes are suspectcd of placing broken bottles on the track at the autocycle races at the Isle of Man. ■' "PACIFY THE WOMEN!" London, June G. Three Suffragettes have been arrested for haranging a crowd outside the Peace Conference at St. James's Palace. They displayed banners inscribed "Peace at Homo, not abroad, Pacify the women first." ALLEGED' ASSAULT DENIED. London, Juno 8. The Women's Social and Political Union denies that any of its members attempted to throw the late Sir Henry Curtis Bennett, tho Bow' Street magistrate, over a cliff at Margate. The late Sir Henry Curtis Bennett, who died suddenly last week, told his solicitor that while he was walking at the seaside one of two women-seized him and endeavoured to throw him over the cliffs. Both then fled.
