MR. M'CABE'S LECTURE.
Sir,—Would, you allow me to ask Mr. M'Cabe one question, before he leaves us ? To put it short and simple; I understand ho said in his lecture we all came from monkeys, etc. Now, if these animals developed into man in such an early stage as the lecturer stated, why is not this process going on with them now ? With all tho civilisation going on around them, one would think they would advance rapidly in this day. But I find tllQ monkeys in. our Zoo, where they have tho advantage of a .wonderful education, are monkeys still, making no signs of being influenced by such learned men qn .tho one hand, or tho many children that visit them on the other. I would like to know why no advance.—l am, etc., INTERESTED.
