Mr. Hanning (president of the British Chamber of Commerce) and Sir John PilteT (a member of tlie Board of Directors of the Chamber) interviewed tho MessageriM Maritimes Company respecting the desirability of installing refrigeration plants on the company's Australian steamers. Tho Mcssagtries Maritimes promised to inquire into the matter. The members of the Chamber of Commerce are hopeful tliat something will be done in the direction suggested.
