The report of the British and Australasian Trust, and Loan Company, Ltd., for 1912, states that the accounts 6ho\v a net profit, after payment of all interest and current expenses, and including £17,349 brought forward, of £30,266, of which amount £5000 was appropriated iiv November last to the payment of an intcrita dividend of Is. 3d. per share. The directors recommend that a further dividend of Is. 3d. per slin.ro, free of income-tax (making with the interita dividond 5 per cent, for the year), together with a bonus of is. per share, amounting to £4GOO, also tax free, bo now declared, and that £16,266 bo carried forward. SOUTHERN GRAIN MARKET. ' (By Telegraph— Frees Association.) Cftrlstcliurcli, Juno 6. Tho local grata market remains firm, but very quiet. Offerings of both wlieat and oats aro very limited, a.nd few sales can bo effected except at outeido priccs. During the week but few lots of wheat or oats have changed hands. Tho potato market is, if anything, easier, and £3 at country stations is now tho best offer. A sale is also reported at £2 155., but it is anticipated that as farmers are now generally pitting their crops there will be few sellers below £3. Some inquiry is setting in for early seed potatoes, but is difficult to give quotations, as prices for the different varieties vary to such' an extent. Pink varieties and 6omo of tho newer kinds of white potatoes are commanding most money, and range from about £5 -upwards. No change ii reported in oatslieaf chaff. £3 ss. at country stations being tho nominal price, with little business doing. Flour, in small bags, has advanced ss. per ton. BANK OF ENGLAND RETURNS. , BANK KATES OP INTEREST. The Bank of England ' rato was. on February 8, 1912, reduced from 4 to 36 per cent., and on May 9 it was further reduced to 3 nor cent. On August 29' it was raised to 4 dor cent., and oil October 17 to 5 per cent. It- was reduced to 41 per cent, on April 17, 1913. Tho Bank of France rato was reduced from 31 to 3 per cent, on January 23, 1908, and continued at tile latter llguro until Scptcmbor 12, 1911, when it was raised to 31 per cent. On May 17, 1912. It was reduced to 3 per cent., on October 17 it was raised t.o 31 per cent., and on October 30 to 4 por cent. MARKET RATES OF DISCOUNT.
