DAIRY COMPETITIONS.

THE "WEDDEL" CUP. The results of two important competitions held under the auspices of the Auckland Agricultural and Pastoral Association ha.vo just been announced, namely, the "Weddel" Butter Cup and the cheese-grading points competition. The "Weddel" Cup competition is open to all butter factories in the Auckland province, and the three prizes are awarded to the buttermakers whoso factory output for the season gains the highest aggregate number of points, according to the certificate issued by the Government grader, between October 1 and April 00. The Cujy which is valued at 25 guineas, carries .an additional prize of .£ls, the second prize being <£10 and the third JES. The cup has to be won two years in succession, or three years at intervals, before finally becoming the property of the, winner. ~ . . The cheese competition is open to all factories in the Dominion. Tho first prize is the champion Shield (valued at 20gns.) and .615, with a second prize of .£lO and a third of «E5. The conditions are similar to those of the "Weddel" Cup, the prizes being awarded to the chee.se- ' makers whoso factory output for tho season gains the highest aggregate number of points, according to tho certificate issued by the Government grader, between November 1 and April 80. As in the casa of tho "Weddel" Cup, the shield must bo won twice in succession or threo times at intervals before becoming the property of any one exhibitor. The Weddel" Cup competition, which attracted six competitors, resulted as follows:— Waipu Co-op. Dairy Company, 93.32 points, 1. . Oruru-Pairburn Co-op. Dairy Compan>, 92.50 points. 2.
