WARSHIP IN GREY ROADS.
"IMPOSSIBLE TO BOARD HER."(By Telegraph'—l'rcsa Association.) Groymouth, Juno 6. H M.S. New Zealand arrived off th« Grey roadstead at 8 this morning, anchoring about three miles' ou/t. Tho weather was unfavourable, a stiff nor"-wxi6ter blowing and sea making. At 10 o clock x tlio Harbour Board tug, with tho chairman and officials, and Mayor and councillors, left to pay an official visit.. Grave ddubts wore cxprcssad whether the party would lie able to board. On arriving alongside it was 6£on to be impossible to board lier, but the tug managed to got within speaking distance, ajid a hearty welcome as extended. Captain Halscy suitably acknowledged the greeting. • Tho Tutanekai, with about 1500 children) from Hokitika, ciroled around the battleship. Great disappointment was expressed at being.unable to board hei\ „-Ilio Kajraki also toot out adults, It is doubtlul if a second trip can be made to-day. _ On account of heavy seas communication was established by means of « lino, along which mails .and other articles, wero delivered. •
