TEPID BATHS.
AT THE BOYS' INSTITUTE, Messrs. C. 8. Moore and Pcarspn, representing tho Boys' Institute, made a proposal to tlio Baths Cominittoo of tho City Council yesterday concerning tho now tepid bath that is to be constructed at tlio Institute's new premises ill 'l'asman Street. They asked tho coimuitteo that water should bo supplied free for tho new bath, as it is now for tlio bath in tlio building in Arthur Strait. Tho now bath, it was stated, would bo 100 ft. by 30ft., ranging in dept'h from 3ft. Gin. to Git, Seating accommodation for about 1000 people would be provided. If tho .council agreed to supply water freo, tho Institute would make tlio batk available for tiso by tho public during certain hours on certain days of tho week. It would also bo available for tho holding of swimming sports. Tlio chairman (Mr. G. Frost) informed tlio deputation that tho committee would givo their request consideration, Tho plans would bo submitted to tlio officers of tho corporation for report; and a reply would be given as soon as possible.
