BERNARD HALL TRAGEDY.
YOUNG WIDOW CONVICTED OF MANSLAUGHTER. By Telesraph—ProES Association—Copyright Londoft, June 3. At tho trial of Jeannie Baxter, a young widow, on a charge of having murdered Bernard Hall, the well-known boxer and aeroplanist (who was shot dead in a flat in Shaftesbury Avenue in April last), the accused gave evidence on lier own behalf. Sho narrated that Hall forced a duel upon Univin, a rival lover, in December last. Revolvers wore used. The affair took place in her Hat. When Unwin left, Hail promised her marriage, but when asked to fulfil liis promise he picked up a revolver, whistled down its barrel, and said, "Dare you pull the trigger?" She caught his hand, and the revolver went off and killed him.. Baxter was found guilty of manslaughter, and sentenced to three years' imprisonment.
