In tho Houso of Commons (ho Chancellor of the Exchequer (Mr. LloydGeorge), speaking on the second reading of the financial Bill, intimated that he was strongly in favour of tho appointment of a Departmental Committee of business men and some members of the House of Commons to inquire regarding the existing- system of income tax assessment, with a view to the removal of anomalies. The "Westminster Gazette" agrees with several speakorsi, during- tho , debate '.that' it is high time'f'or revisiqn'arid simplification of the assessment system, inasmuch as some pay too much. , and others too little. •
