NO BRIDEGROOM APPEARED.
PETONE WEDDING CANCELLED. A sensation occurred at l'etono yesterday afternoon, when a wedding which waa timed to talie place at 2.30 o'clock was t to u sudden stpp owing- to tlio bridegroom tailing to put in mi appearance. All the guests had assembled at the residence of the bride|s pnront«, along with tho cabs and bridal party. Tim bride and bridesmaids were attired for tho occasion, but jlist as tile, party prepared to leave for the church tho father was informed that the bridegroom could not attend. The cubs wor.s dismissed and otlier arrangements cancelled. 'Die bridegroom some time ago resided in Petone, but latterly ill Chrislchurch, and the couple intended residing in that city. The prospective bridegroom caine i up from Cnristchurch on Tuesday morning, and so far as is known looked forward to his wedding. The incident lias caused o.uite a stir in Petone.
