Paritutu and Dorando wero the first over tho first fence, just clear of The Native, Dorando, Bismarck, Glenmore, and Bercola, and so, they ran to the water jump, ivhore Glenmore ranged up alongBide Paritutu. Bismarck came to grief at the old water jump, and the next obstacle accounted for The Native,.who was, however, remountod. Going over the hill the second time Paritutu and Glenmore wero still making the pace, being two lengths clear of lied M'Gregor, who was three lengths in front of Dorando, Okaihau, and Bercola, Hautere being a long way back. ' At tho double Glonnioro was ihowing in front of Paritutu, who was three lengths clear of Okaihau, Bercola, Red M'Gregor, and Dorando, Hautere being three lengths further lack. Okaihau went to the front going along tho back, but just before the hill was reached he broke down, and was pulled up. Glenmore reached the summit n length in front of Bercola, with Paritutu, Hautere, Dorando, and Red M'Gregor all handy. Glenmoro tired at the straight entranoe, where Dorando put in a claim. Hautere also made a forward more, and Bercola led at the last hurdle. Once over, Bercola drew away, and, stalling off Dorando and Paritutu, won by four lengths.
