FATALLY PINNED B¥ TREE.
(By Telegraph—Press Association.? Hokitika, June 3. A sad fatality occurred at Kolcatahi today, when Thos. Moyniham, n farmer, and a recent arrival in the district, was killed while engaged in cutting up a big pino tree. It appears that the deceased was, with two of his sons at tho, time, and ho was working at tho butt of the tree, while they wero engaged in sawing off tho limbs. By somo means tho trunk, which was propped up by the limbs, without any warning rolled over, pinning tho unfortunate man to tho ground. It was found necessary to dig the ground from him in order to cxtricato h>m, and, when this was done, it was found that lifo was extinct. An inquest was held this evening, when a verdict was returned that deceased was accidentally killed by a log rolling upon him. Ho leaves a widow and a family of nine, _________
