MOTOR-BUS COMPANY.
KELBURNE-KARORI PROPOSALS. The ICelburne-Karori Motor Bus Company held a meeting in the Chamber of Commerce on Monday evening to receive a report from the directors, and to discuss matters concerning the formation of the company. In moving the adoption of the report, the chairman (Mr. Thos. Ward) stated that tho initial expenses had been kept well under the estimate. In order that tho company might be successful from the outset it was imperative that they should have at least an additional ,£SOO capital. There would not bo tho slightest difficulty in raising that amount from outsiders, but shareholders would have the first opportunity to subscribe. The municipal authorities had not moved in the matter of the construction of a tramway between tho Karori tunnel and the Kelburne Tramway Co.'s power-house, although they were besoueht to do so continually. In his opinion the new company would carry out the undertaking far more successfully than any municipality. Tho proposed route. was considered to be almost ideal, and, by combining consideration for tho majority with up-to-date business methods, a eood return on tho company's capital would, ho said, be secured.
Mr. A. E. Meek seconded the motion and expressed his confidenco in the company's future. Tho report and balance-sheet were unanimously adopted;
The following were elected directors: Messrs. T. Ward, J. P. Mills, W. H. Ballinger, and W. A. Kellow. Subsequently means of raising the additional ,£SOO were then considered, and over .£IOO was subscribed. in the room. Mr. Ward stated that immediately tho ,£SOO was subscribed the buses would be ordered.
