FIVE MONTHS' FIGURES.
The vital statistica far Wellington for the five months ending May .31, as coinpiled by the Registrar of Births, Deaths, and Marriages, Mr. G. G. Hodgkins, sTioiv the births have kept, fairly even, comparedwith the corresponding five months oi last year, tho figures being 818 for 191-, and 843 this year. Deaths show a fairl,y substantial increase, from 292 m 1912 to 339 ior tho months under review this year, but last month there was a falling off, in comparison with the figures for *" a s' 1912, last months figures being G6 a3 against 91 in May, 1912. linages a slight <Jecreaso over 1912, when the fig ures were 466, to 115 this year.
