SUICIDE AT SEA. On Saturday afternoon, while the 5.9. PapaToa waa approaching Wellington, a bnssonger named James H. Fish committed suicide by jumping overboard. Fish was a native of Clydebank, Glasgow, and was 63 years of age. Ho was on his way to Now Zealand to join two eons in Auckland. Ho had kept' very much to himself on the voyage out. and was described as being of a reserved disposition, with strong religions feelings. Nothing in his conduct indicated that he intended to make away with himself. Chief Officer Wynward was away with a crew in charge of the emergenoy boat, and oveTy offort was made to rescue tho unfortunate man. Tho chief omcer camo in for much praiso for the smartness with which he got the rescno boat away. The ship's dootor, Dr-.
