On Thursday, June 5, Mr, Rhodes will visit the Waikato show at Hamilton, and also tho district hospital. On Friday ho will inspect the To Waikato Sanatorium at Cambridge, and will proceed ill the evening to To Arolia. Before returning to Wellington the Minister will visit the mental hospital at Tokaanui and the accommodation house at Waitomo, which is used by visitors to tho limestone caves. There has been somo talk of building additional accommodation as tho capacity of tho existing houso is frequently taxed during the busy season. Tho Hon. W. Fraser will leave for tlys south on Monday evening. He will bo at Dunedin on Tuesday night, and on Wednesday, and on Thursday will return to Christchurch. On Friday ho will visit Waiau. lieaclnug Christchurch again on Saturday, ho will leave for Wellington in the evening, arriving litre on Sunday morning.
The llev. J. L. Dove, M.A., has resigned his position as principal of tlio Wanganui Collegiate School, says a Press Association telegram. .The resignation will take effect about March next year. In 1873 lie was invited by Sir William Fox, then Premier, to settle in Foxton as medical officer to the Natives from Horowhenua to Kaugitikei. Ilu was the only doctor in tho Foxton district in tho early days. Subsequently he resided at Palmerston for a quarter of a century, and was widely respected. At the cieeting of the New Zealaiul Tennis Association last evening a hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Mr. A. L.
Berry for his services in managing tho Wellington match of tho British team's tour, in January last. It was also decided that Mr. Berry should bo presented with a small memento of tho visit.
