NORTHERN DAIRYING.

STEADY DEVELOPMENT. TIIO Anckland Proyinco (says our special correspondent) comcs second in the list as an exporter of dairy produce, and last season tho production increased in both butter and chcese, tho export comprising 17(i,700c\Tt. of butter valued at i£99o,Gti3, and 13,871cwt. of cheese, valued at ,£3D,GGO, a total of J1,030,323. To tho incrcaso of <£305,352. butter contributed and cheese .£791. The 000,000 mark has never previously been exceeded . by the dairy products exported from tho Auckland Province, and the anticipations n. year ago- of a record season have been fully realised. Similar expectations for the season which will' comment* in September are justified. Several dairy factories will commenco operations with tho new season, and the number of suppliers has. been increased by the establishment of. new dairy forms in recently-settled districts, and in older districts, where large holdings havo been subdivided. Tho most notable development of tho dairy industry in the Auckland Province has been in tho Northern Peninsula, where many new herds are being established. Tho autumn has been most unfavourable, ami the manner in which the milk supply I .fell away during the past few weeks is without precedent.
