The Maoris of the Wanganui, Main Trunk, and Parewanui districts liavo been holding meetings respecting the proposal of the Hon. W.JI. llfcrries, Native Minister, to have one law for the Maoris anil tho pakeha, and big koreros have been civtaniscd' to take place in different. contits prior to tho meeting of Parliament, A big meeting has just been concluded near Jrordell, and it was decided that Parliament bo asked strictly to observe tho Treaty of Waitangi. The proposal of ona law for the two races was strongly opposed, and it was decided that rcpre.wntar (lions to that effect bo niado to Parliament. Anothcf meeting is to be held at Parowanui next week.
