SIX-TON ANCHOES CAST. tvo big-cast-iron mushroom anchors, weighing over six tons each, have beeif cast by Messrs. Cable and Sons and Messrs. S. Luko and Sons, Wellington, for use in connection with salvage operations with tlio stranded Tyser liner ludrabarah. Tho anchors arc 7ft. Gin. in diameter, and, being saucer-shaped, taper from 9 inches in thickness at the bottom to inches at tho outside edge. Tho stock for each anchor measures 10ft. in length by 10J inches in diameter. The Union Company's salvage tug Terawhiti will tako a quantity of salvago gear, including tho anchor cast by Luke ami Sons, to the scene of tho stranded steamer to-day. Slio will lay this anchor, and return for tho second ono immediately afterwards. As it is high spring tide on .Tiuio i, an attempt will bo made to refloat tho stranded steamer on that day ( By that time it is hoped to havo everything in readiness for tho "big pull."
