At Marquette, Michigan,, Mr. Roosevelt has commenced a libel suit against George Newett, newspaper publisher, for accusing him of drunkenness during the Presidential campaign. In his fcvidenco Mr. Roosevelt declared that ho had, never touched liquor unless after great exposure while on a hunting expedition or on a physician's advice. Ho had never drunk a "cocktail" or a "highball" during his life. A hugo crowd of visitors are thronging the city in order to hear tho case. While in the witness-box Mr. Roosevelt sketched his career and told tho history of his hunting expedition. Medical witnesses asserted that ii was impossible for Mr. Roosevolt to live tho strenuous life ho did if h<S drank.
