BURGLARS BEATEN.
POLICE VIGILANT. By Telesrraßl—Press Association—Copyright Sydney, May 28. • The polioe brought off a smart burglar coup. A. detectivp saw two men enter the r premises of Brodribb's, auctioneers, George Street. A third man replaced the padlock, and strolled away, but tho detective followed and arrested him, and then telephoned for assistance.
A' strong force of _ police surrounded the building and captured tho other two men, who were busy forcing a large safe. OFFICERS DULY REWARDED. ■ Brisbane, May 28. Detective Head and Constable 'Scanlon have been promised and awarded medals for bravery for arresting an armed burglar at Toowomba railway station, the capture being watched by hundreds of passengers, including the Lieutenant-Gov-ernor (Sir Arthur Morgan).
