The authorities of the National Sporting Club state that they refused to join tho International Boxing Union, just formed to govern world, championships and settle disputes, because • anyone is able to promote a boxing match. If the boxing authorities, tho Club states, had powers similar to those of the Jockey Club, they would bo able to do much for the sport.
