BOYS' INSTITUTE.

At the weekly practice of tho Boys' Institute Boxing Club on Friday the instruction was given by a scries of exhibition contests, in which several members of the Victoria College Club and other visitors took part. Tlio boys are fortunate in having as instructor Mr. W. J. Heenan. The programme for tho evening included several senior bouts, those ■taking part being Messrs. Brosnan and Stewart (Victoria College), Stevens and Thomson (Athletic), nnd O'EiaTierty and Heenan (Institute). Between whiles tlio juniors provided a turn, and, using tho largo gloves presented by the Wellington Boring Association, they could "slog in without doing any harm.
