Counsel for Lane wmfendcd that his, client, by virtue of his name being on ths Napier toU was entitled to a seat on the board as the bastings representative, he being "a person entitled to vote at an flection of a member of tha board," and tho qualification set out in Section 16 of the Harbours Amendment Act, 1910. Decision was reserved. .

MURDER CHARGE DISMISSED. Auckland, May 25. Proceedings in tho trial of the woman Sarah Eliza Skellon, on a charge of the murder of Minotaur Caroljnc Bush, 10 years of age, as the result of an illegal operation alleged to have been performed by prisoner, were continued nt tho Supreme Court before Mr. Justice Cooper yesterday. Tho proceedings were continued until a late hour. The jury found prisoner not guilty and she was discharged. The charge against Skellon of having performed an illegal operation has yet to be heard.
