Special interest is being taken In the junior department of the Y.M.C.A. at present, more especially the "Intermediate Club/' which provides" for boys l>etween the ages of 16 and 18 years. The officers elected 1 for the season are: President, Mr. W. H. Cox; vice-president, Mr. B. Mabin; hon. secretary, Mr. E. Lund; committee, Messrs. Moss, M'Leod,. 1 Mathers, Young, Adair, and Beaumont. There have been very good attendances for the last few weeks, and it is expected that as the winter months progress the attendance will still Wither increase. On May 14 the president, Mr. W. H. Cox gave a talk on the aims and objects of the club, outlining in a very interesting manner how the Y.M.C.A. sought to improve men and boys spiritually, morally, intellectually, and physically. On Wednesday Inst there was a debate—Navy v Army—which proved interesting and instructive. The club has the advantage of the help of Mr. Ryan (boys' work director) and Mr. Varney (general secretary).
