THE DARWIN TROUBLE,
FIZZLING OUT.

The strike of tho members of tho Amalgamated Workers' Association employed by tho Federal Government, who demandled a wage of '£i for a forty-four hour week, has practically fizzled out, owing to tho defection of tho carters and train crew and tho deployment of non-strikers. Tho strikers are preparing •to ■.-telegraph to Mr. Scadden, Premier of Western Australia, that tlio Territory Administration being, in their view, unsympathetic with Labour ideals, they desire to migrate to Western Australia, where a living wage is assured.
THE LOSSES. AN EMPLOYERS' SCHEME FOR RECOVERT. Sydney, -May 23. The Employers' Federation is considering a scheme to have legislation introduced to compel trade unions to establish a fund to permit of employers suffering loss through strikes to recover damages in the Law Courts.
BRISBANE COMPANY'S ESTIMATE. London, May 22. The report of tho Brisbane Tramway Company, presented to the British shareholders, shows that tho lato strike caused a direct and indirect loss of ,£32,000.
