EARTHQUAKE RECORD.

AT SYDNEY. , By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Rec. May 23, 1 a.m.) 1 Sydney, May 22. The seismograph at the Observatory recorded an earthquake at midnight on May 20, about 2700 miles from Sydney, probably in the vicinity of Java.

The waves were of the amplitude of 1.5 millimetres.
