PRESBYTERIAN PROTEST. AGAINST REMOVAL OF "DRY" o STATUS. By Telegraph—Proas Association—Cop jrlgM (Rec. May 22, 8.40 p.m.) Melbourne, May 22. * A report by the Committee of the Presbyterian Assembly protests against tho proposed endeavour by military officers to have the camp canteens restored, allegedly because the recent "dry" camps were marked by misconduct such as had disgraced no previous military operations.
The report asks the Defence Department to mnlce thorough inquiries before moving in the matter, as a statement made to the committee by some of the most responsible officers declared that the camps had never been more orderly or better conduoted.
